day habilitation programsThe services of the day habilitation programs are designed to maximize a person's independence in activities of daily living, personal health and safety, socialization, decision making, communication education, recreation within the community, and leisure skill building to enhance their idle time. This service also provides evaluation and active therapeutic intervention to developmentally delayed and physically challenged adults. Full-time OTRs, PTs and Speech-Language Pathologists are on site to work directly with individuals to provide assessment and therapeutic intervention designed to maximize skills in the areas listed above. Programming is individualized based on the needs and interests of the individuals served. The therapists working for Life-Skills work cooperatively with residential providers to provide assistance in acquiring adaptive equipment to be used in the home. Our therapists also attend medical appointments if requested to advocate on behalf of the individuals served. Therapeutic programs include adapted kayaking, Meals on Wheels, swimming, Out to Lunch programs, and therapeutic horseback riding. Key Benefits:
